Preparing for NDA|CDS|AFCAT|NA|Airforce|Navy

Dear Students,
You must be figuring out all the information that can assist you in preparing the defence exams. This article provides answer to the following questions:
1.       Should I join a coaching?
2.        What is ssb Procedure?
3.       How to crack written exams?
Let me answer your queries one by one.
SHOULD I JOIN A COACHING?
It is not extreme necessity that you join any coaching. If you are well confident of yourself regarding your theoretical knowledge, medical fitness and you already have OLQ(Officer Like Qualities) then you certainly do not need any coaching program. Go ahead and best of Luck.
On the other hand it is very important at this stage to be very careful and not fall in the trap of over-confidence and delusion. At this stage it is natural that we tend to believe that everything is possible and we can crack defence exams as per our rule. Here I would strongly advise to stay out of this mentality.
Let us see some of the facts related to NDA:
1.       Around 3,00,000 students from all over the country appear for the NDA exam every year.
2.        Around 8,000 students clear written exams.
3.       Around 450 students clear SSB.
The statistics mentioned above clearly indicate that it will take more than wishful thinking, applying for exam , to become an officer.
Why should you join a reputed defence academy?
I have outlined here the reasons why you should choose a coaching.
1.       The defence academies has faculty members who have already guided so many students to become officers.  Let us take the example of Warriors Defence Academy.   Faculty members at WDA have carefully prepared each course and make sure that each student focuses on the important concepts and tricks. Our excellent course and well trained staff makes us army, airforce, navy, cds, afcat, best nda coaching in Lucknow.

2.       In defence exams medical fitness is equally important as written exams. Warrior defence academy has dedicated ground facility and coaches to make sure you excel in the medical fitness as well. You can find the images in the campus section on the website. Every Morning and Evening students are required to attend the sports stadium and perform all kind of physical activities needed after written exam.

3.       Best Defence Academies already have most promising and motivated students from the country studying in the campus. You get an opportunity to test yourself in weekly tests how much you need to improve.  Some students are from cities, some from villages, someone from a reputed schools they all bring certain value and provide enormous opportunities for the students to learn from each other.

4.       The coaching at defence academies is not as expensive as engineering and medical exams. At Warriors Defence Academy we make sure that a promising student gets best from us. We provide financial discounts to the students from weak backgrounds.

5.       Regular interaction with defence officers provides great motivation. Warriors Defence Academy believes not only in excellent academic preparation but also fosters a polished  defence culture in the institute by regularly organizing events where WDA alumni and other defence officers guide students towards success.

6.       It is extremely important to have a disciplined and polished personality to become an officer. Warrior Defence Academy  provides personality development classes to students each week.

SSB REQUIREMENTS:

The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:

(a)    Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT.

(b)     Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in.

The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group  Testing  Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the tests. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.
The various tests of IO, GTO and Psych are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB.
HOW TO CRACK WRITTEN EXAMS:
You can find tons of advice and sometimes it all seems much confusing since the students do not know where to begin planning and how to organize.
Each student has his own way of attempting exams and since I was a student once and I found that my ways were quite helpful to me I have reason to believe that they may be of help to you too.
1.       Do not mess with questions: I would strongly urge you try to attempt all those questions first which you are sure and answers are before-hand. Leave those which are difficult. Remember they are eating your time. Move ahead. Most of the time it happens that you come back at the question only to find that you know the answer. The reason for the above is simple. Our subconscious mind keeps working on the questions which we have left behind while working on the next questions with our conscious mind.

2.       Make sure to bubble answers at regular intervals so as not to miss any question which answer was known to you.

3.       Always reserve the first five minutes for the overview of the paper and the last five minutes to check your work.

4.       Do not lose your faith. Sometimes it happens that question paper appear very tough on the surface but remember two things in such cases:
a.       The question paper is tough for everyone.
b.       Find those questions which are easy to solve and finish them first.
